On February 7th, New York rock band Yeah Yeah Yeahs announced their U.S./EU tour! The tour will begin on May 3rd in Washington, D.C., and the group will go on 16 other stops before ending the tour in Berlin, DE on August 29th. Artists Perfume Genius and the Faint will provide support for Yeah Yeah Yeahs in select cities in the U.S.! Additional support for the EU leg, as well as more tour dates, will be announced at a later time.

The tour follows the release of Yeah Yeah Yeahs' 5th studio album Cool It Down, which was released on September 30th last year. Cool It Down was the band's first new project since the release of their album Mosquito in 2013!

A music video for Cool It Down's track "Blacktop" came with Yeah Yeah Yeahs' tour announcement. The video, directed by David Black, is intentionally simple in its visuals. In a tweet from Yeah Yeah Yeahs member Karen O, she explained, "Blacktop stuck out to me early on, the demo was very stripped down instrumentally and emotionally. It was a step towards what radical closeness feels like after a long separation. It felt right to keep the video as stripped down and dare I say beautiful in its naïveté." Karen O also added, "David Black put us in front of his 70s analog video camera with the intention to pull stills for band shots. It wasn’t intended to end up as a video and as a return to the earliest visuals from the record it completes a circle. We hope you enjoy."

2023 is the year of performances for Yeah Yeah Yeahs! Not only do they have their tour, but they are also headlining and performing at numerous festivals. The band holds the headlining spot for Just Like Heaven Fest on May 13th at the Rose Bowl along other names on the lineup such as MGMT, M83, and Empire of the Sun. In July, Yeah Yeah Yeahs will head to Japan to perform at the Fuji Rock Festival with headliners Foo Fighters, Lizzo, and the Strokes. Yeah Yeah Yeahs will round out the year of festivals in August by headlining at London's All Points East festival in Victoria Park with other headliners Stromzy and the Strokes!

Presale tickets for Yeah Yeah Yeahs' tour went on sale on February 8th and is still ongoing (use code: COOLKIDZ23). General sale will occur on February 10th at 10 a.m. local time on Ticketmaster!
