North West Makes Billboard History as One of the Youngest Artists to Chart on the Hot 100
North West, the 10-year-old daughter of Ye (formerly known as Kanye West) and Kim Kardashian, has made headlines by becoming one of the youngest artists to chart on Billboard's Hot 100. Her debut as a musician comes with her feature on the track "Talking," from Ye and Ty Dolla $ign's collaborative album, Vultures 1.
North West, also known as "Miss Westie" in the track, showcases her young talent as a rapper with confident lyrics like, "It's your bestie. Miss, Miss Westie. Don't try to test me, it's gonna get messy." Her verse on "Talking" has propelled her onto the Hot 100, where she claimed the 30th spot on the chart dated February 24, 2024.
Vultures 1 has been a massive success, with all 16 tracks from the album entering the Hot 100 chart. "Carnival," another track from the album, even secured the third spot on the top 10 of the all-genre list, a remarkable achievement for the young artist's debut.
North West's entry onto the Hot 100 has placed her in the ranks of some of the youngest artists to ever grace the chart. While she is not the youngest artist to enter the list (that title belongs to French singer Jordy at age five), North West's accomplishment is still historic. She joins the likes of Stevie Wonder, who became the youngest soloist to top the list at just 13 years old with "Fingertips – Pt 2."
As North West continues to explore her musical talents and make her mark on the industry, her debut on the Hot 100 is a testament to her early success and potential for a bright future in music.
